MODULES COVERED
1. Educational Philosophies: An Overview
The module comprises an overview of the various schools of thought pertinent to the field of education. Learners will work out a personal approach to the theory and practice of education through a reflection of their own personal beliefs, teaching styles and perspectives.
2. Psychology of Learning: Lessons from Cognitive Psychology
The module deals on the principles of educational psychology and their applications to solve problems. It examines the theoretical and applied aspects of learning motivation, personality, classroom management, culture and evaluation of the learning outcome.
3. Educational Technology: The 21st Century Classroom
This module will integrate the beneficial uses of technology by empowering educators to implement it in their practice in order to provide authentic learning experiences for students.
4. Classroom Dynamics and Behaviour Management
This module provides students with a wide range of theories and practices related to the management, motivation and sustenance of professional control involved in the education of children and adolescents. It focuses on the application of behaviour management for classroom control and supervision.
5. Educational Research: Designs and Procedures
The module introduces methods of scientific work and techniques of research reporting: Sampling, collecting and organising data, analysis, results, interpretation and research reporting. Learners will create an action research, a form of self-reflective systematic inquiry by practitioners.
